At the beginning of microprocessor technology engineers had to learn how to use this new components and their application. To support this, the semiconductor manufacturers designed kits, which allowed construc- tion of simple microcomputers. Often these kits contained only the LSI-chips and a PCB, as shown here. All other components had to be supplied by the user. After completing the kit, the user had to debug the whole thing. The manuals contained tutorials how to troubleshoot hardwareproblems in such a system with oscilloscope and logicprobe.
